Chapter 13

Grace woke groggy. At first she didn’t remember where she was, but when she stretched and her body was deliciously sore, her eyes snapped open. She was alone in bed and the room was quiet. Light filtered through the blinds and the fire had long since died out.

Sitting up, she shoved hair from her face and winced at the soreness that zinged through her.

She and Baymac had made love repeatedly throughout the night. Each time one of them woke, it was like their need called out to the other. Whether it was her or Baymac that stirred, they would lose themselves in each other, and she’d come each and every time. It was exquisite, and something she’d never experienced before. He’d been right. A woman’s body was an instrument, and he was an expert musician. He’d played her so skillfully that it left her breathless and in awe. She’d been shocked to discover that, not only could a man evoke an orgasm from her, but that it could be done over and over. Her ex, Otto, had been what Kya liked to call a ‘one dump chump’. He had been too. He’d get off, and then he’d pass out, never once caring that he’d left Grace not only wanting but feeling ashamed. Baymac was nothing like Otto. Each time they’d made love, he’d ensured she got off first, and he was so damn careful and gentle. Even when his thrusts grew fevered he was still cautious about not hurting her. Otto never did that. In fact, he’d get so excited that he’d brace his weight, often on her hair, and she’d be trying to stop him from ripping out her hair while he was focused on himself. Bastard! Now she hated him even more. He’d convinced her that she was the failure in the bedroom, when all this time it had been him.

Flinging herself back on the bed, she sighed as she hugged the blankets to her chest and stared at the ceiling. What did she do now? Baymac had ruined her for any other man, and they weren’t even in a relationship. In fact, she now felt guilt for not telling him the full reason she was going to the Blackbird pack in Glacier.

She lay in bed another ten minutes before the stickiness of her body compelled her to get up. She wrapped a sheet around herself and looked for her clothes, but couldn’t find them.

Crossing to the door, she peeked out in the hall, but there was no sign of Baymac so she tip-toed to the bathroom where she quickly showered, brushed her teeth, and combed her hair. Once she was all cleaned up, she smiled at her reflection in the foggy mirror. Something about the little hickey on her neck sent a zing of pleasure coursing through her. She was fingering it when there was a knock at the door.

“Grace?”

She turned and cracked the door to peek out. Baymac stood in the hall fully clothed and holding her clothes in a folded stack.
